We often try to start our years with God as we start our years in our diet: full of drastic measures, grand gestures, and over commitments we’re not going to do. We also regularly feel guilty: “I don’t read my Bible enough”, “I don’t pray”. Lastly, we typically quarantine our personal formation or devotion to God into the realm of spiritual. We want to pave the way for a different approach that starts with our desires or hunger, that’s predicated on building momentum through small things, and that’s holistic (physical, mental, emotional).
