1988 years ago, on a Sunday morning in ancient Palestine and in a guarded tomb outside the city of Jerusalem, Jesus rose from the dead. A man born in Bethlehem among shepherds, as a child raised as a refugee in Egypt, later apprenticing as a carpenter in the small town of Nazareth, in his early 30s he started a movement as a teacher, rabbi, and healer, was killed by Roman Authorities as a convicted criminal. He was dead. But on that Sunday morning, which we celebrate today, Jesus of Nazareth, walked out of the grave—alive.
Whether you know it or not, whether you day dream about this moment regularly, or even if you have never analyzed it or dwelt on this event much: Jesus is the main thing happening in your life. This event, and what you do with Jesus is the story of your life. Who he was, what he did, and what that means for the world, is, in many ways, the summation of your existence.
Join us to celebrate Christ is Risen and all its implications for our lives, our world, and our beliefs.
